Our line of fine jewelry comes from these two interlocking affections. Combining the geometry of architecture with the fluidity of art, we design through a process of careful synthesis. We also design together, as husband and wife. Jewelry making is a marvelous process. After sketching and daydreaming, we begin each piece by building a 3D model on the computer. Amazingly, we draw with the same software programs we learned while earning masters degrees in architectural design at Columbia University (where we met, and this whole love-story began). From the 3D digital model, we then order a prototype (or full scale model) to be printed in plastic. In this way, we make many careful rounds, refining each piece until it satisfies our demanding aesthetic criteria. Once we are delighted with the scale, weight and personality of each piece, our goldsmith in Vienna casts the final version into 18k gold. Each piece is then expertly hand finished and beautifully wrapped in a custom cloth etuis. Jewelry lives against the body. Throughout this abstract digital design process, we remain mindful of the ultimate destination for each piece. In making sensual objects, we obsessively ask: how will it feel against the skin? How will it be worn? How will it look on the body? How will it be treasured? Jewelry is treasure that tells stories.
